Visitor safety at the world’s tallest statue, The Statue of Unity (SUI) is being enhanced with smoke control solutions from SE Controls India, which are designed to help keep escape routes free from smoke if a fire should occur at this recently opened attraction.

Erected as a monument to honour Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who played a major role in the country's move towards becoming a united, independent nation, the 182 metre high statue is twice the height of The Statue of Liberty and is stands near the Sardar Sarovar Dam, overlooking the Narmada River in the state of Gujarat.

One of India’s leading construction companies, Larsen & Toubro were in charge of the four-year construction project and the smoke control system uses 16 SE Controls OS2 SHEVTEC controllers and 8 MCP units to manage the venting of smoke for the structure and ease of escape in the event of a fire.
