The OS2 SHEVTEC controller is a flexible, fully compliant EN12101-10 control panel that can operate either as a stand-alone, networked, or multi-zoned system. It can also integrate into an OSLoop system to control individual smoke vents with a high-power draw.
Smoke shaft systems are easily programmed aligned to the cause and effect strategy via OSLink insert cards with dip switch selection. Environmental control is also offered to regulate the temperature within the common corridors.
The system is MANAGED PROTOCOL, accessible to any SE Controls authorised Partner or Licenced Installed within the national approved network to ensure the life safety system is correctly serviced and operational.
OSloop is a fully compliant EN12101-10 control system that distributes power and data via a loop such that the system still operates if the cable is cut. The local MCP becomes the zonal controller on each floor thus offering savings in fire-rated field wiring costs. The system is designed for both natural and mechanical high-rise residential smoke ventilation systems and can provide system status indication for taller buildings via the SHEVTEC Repeater Panel.

The Fan-set control panel range is a certified system to mechanically extract smoke from common escape areas via smoke shafts and pressurised escape/fire-fighting stairs.
They are manufactured in both single and variable speed options to offer the flexibility to control pressures within the common escape areas and provide fire-fighting auto/boost functionality.
Duty and standby activation of the smoke ventilation fans is provided via pressure monitoring with auto changeover activation. The controllers are suitable for both mechanical extract/natural inlet, mechanical push/pull and pressurisation/depressurisation applications.
The MCP integrates with OSLoop and OS2 Shevtec Controller systems for smoke shaft, corridor AOV and escape/fire-fighting stair and lobby applications.
It provides both open and close/reset activation of AOVs in addition to system monitoring and indication to meet the requirements of prEN12101-9. The MCP is available in both surface mounted and recessed applications.
The Tamperproof MCP integrates with OSLoop and OS2 Shevtec Controller systems for smoke shaft, corridor AOV and escape/fire-fighting stair and lobby applications.
For installations that may be subject to increased nuisance operation or damage it only provides close/reset activation of smoke ventilators as there is no requirement to manually open a smoke vent in a communal escape corridor. A manual Fireman’s override is however optional via a secure key.
The MCP provides monitoring and indication to meet the requirements of prEN12101-9.
The smoke detector head and base is a certified, optical detector for use as a smoke detection system within common escape areas within a high-rise residential applications. It is used in conjunction with the OSLoop and SHEVTEC OS2 controls systems to provide a stand-alone, compliant smoke detection and ventilation system and gives a failsafe signal to the controls system if the head is removed or activated.
The Repeater Panel has been designed to provide system status information for each vent within a smoke ventilation system. The repeater panel would typically be located near the fire service access entrance of the building to provide system indication. Whilst this product is not required under Approved Document B, SE Controls can include this product within the specification to provide system status information in the event of a fire or for system maintenance.
PIR sensors are utilised if a smoke ventilator automatically or remotely closes and there is an entrapment risk. This risk is often negated via the use of a local MCP for system reset or physical barriers and cover grilles.
The rain sensor is utilised in conjunction with the temperature sensor to close the smoke ventilation AOV when utilised for environmental ventilation as part of an SE Controls ‘Evello’ smoke ventilation system.
Fireman's Boost Switch
The Fireman’s boost switch is utilised as part of a mechanical smoke extraction system to provide increased extraction rates as required by the fire-fighting personnel. It has a secure key activation to prevent operation by unauthorised personnel.
The pressure sensor is required for mechanical smoke extraction systems within high-rise residential applications to ensure the pressure across the escape stair door from the corridor remains below 200N.
In conjunction with the variable speed fan control panel, the fan speed is modulated to control the pressure. The door resistance can increase above 200N in ‘fire-fighting’ or ‘boost’ modes when it is safe to do so. It is also used to monitor the pressure within the escape stairs if the staircase is utilised as a mechanical pressurisation system.
The temperature sensor is installed within the common corridor to activate the smoke ventilation system and cool the space as overheating in common corridors is commonplace in this application. This system is called SE Controls ‘Evello’.
Human Machine Interface (HMI)
The HMI is a front-end interface that is part of an OSLoop and SHEVTEC OS2 smoke ventilation controls system. It provides the user with real-time status of the system including activations and fault locations.
