Spooktacular amount raised by SE Controls for chosen charity

Tricks and treats are helping raise a scary total for Andy’s Man Club.

The unrelenting fundraising efforts of employees at SE Controls has taken on a scarier role in the run up to Hallowe’en, with ghoulish dressing up, ‘Trick or Treat Bingo’ and ghostly themed baking raffles all helping to take the total past the £3,000 mark for the Andy’s Man Club charity.

Andy’s Man Club is a mental health support charity that provides a forum for men to talk about problems or issues to help overcome the ‘macho’ stigma many of them associate with this process. The charity was selected by SE Controls employees earlier in the year to be the focus of their fundraising activities throughout 2019.

In addition to the Hallowe’en initiative, fundraising activities have been ramping up since the middle of the year to help keep the total growing. A massive car boot sale of donated items raised more than £100 in a single morning, while ‘Carwash Wednesday’ has been created where staff can get their cars washed twice a month by local company, Shinebright, which donate 10% of their payments to the charity.

The Grand Christmas Raffle is the next major event, where donations from employees and companies have been collected throughout the year in preparation for the raffle, which takes place in December, as the last big push before the final total is announced.

Lisa Hyde, who is acting as fundraising co-ordinator at SE Controls, said: “The momentum we created at the start of the year hasn’t diminished and everyone is still coming up with great ideas to raise even more money for Andy’s Man Club. The efforts to date have been outstanding and I’m thrilled with everyone’s’ incredible level of commitment. Well done and thank you.”
