SE Controls End of Year Charity Update

SE Controls employees raise £7,500 for Andy’s Man Club charity.

The outstanding and unrelenting fundraising efforts by employees at SE Controls during the past year have raised more than £7,500 for the Andy’s Man Club (AMC) mental health support charity - A cheque was presented to Dean Neary by the company’s fundraising co-ordinator, Lisa Hyde and Group Managing Director, Will Perkins.

Andy’s Man Club was created to provide a forum for men to talk about personal problems or issues and help overcome the ‘macho’ stigma associated with this. AMC was selected by SE Controls employees to be the focus of their fundraising activities throughout 2019.

Lisa Hyde, explained: “Mental health is an important factor in overall health and wellbeing, but the statistics for suicide rates among men, particularly younger men, are alarming, which is why this charity provides such a vital service. Through their informal clubs around the country, men are able to share their problems and concerns, while helping each other to deal with their issues, with positive support.”

She added: “The latest club is in the process of being set up in Scarborough.  Nationally, AMC was attended by more than 750 men on Monday 20th January, which is close to their all-time record of 800 men. Everyone at SE Controls has put in an incredible effort to achieve such a fantastic total and have shown amazing commitment to this charity.”
